In addition to her exceptional artistry, Sandi also excels in the care of her collectors. She communicates openly and thoroughly, answering questions with alacrity. She is thoughtful when customizing details on a commission, often adding small touches to a painting that make it truly personal and very special. My husband never ceases to amaze me. He really surprised me today.
We had been out for a little while this evening, grabbing a bite with family, and then a quick run to the grocery store.
When we got home, there was a large, thin box at our front door.
Long story short, this was my birthday, Valentine's Day, anniversary, Mother's Day surprise...
It was painted by an artist in Hickory, NC, Sandi Baker. Her husband, Jw Baker, is also an artist, and we have several pieces done by them. SO MUCH TALENT!!!
I believe that this one, "The Call', is my absolute favorite.
Yes, I did cry. It is amazing... the artist is amazing... and my husband is AMAZING!

I have purchased multiple large paintings from Sandi over recent years. Her melding of creativity and realism to capture wildlife is second to none. Her wolves and tigers are especially striking, with hair-by-hair details that come from real references of photos she's taken at sanctuaries. I have also commissioned Sandi several large pieces and have never been disappointed. Not only did she bring my creations to life, but she checked-in throughout the process to make sure the paintings were coming along and matching my vision. When she knew something I suggested might not look right, she was forthright about other solutions. A couple of times, I even changed my mind on things, and she was never hesitant to go back and work through my vision again. Sandi's pricing is also very budget-friendly given the sheer size and quality of the works she produces. She's my favorite commission artist! I will keep going back to her when I have animal-related artwork visions.

I purchased my first painting by Sandi Baker in 2007 from a small local gallery. I went to that gallery multiple times and each time I would find myself standing in front of her painting of a female wolf walking in snow. Sandi's style is unique. The details in the eyes hold and follow you. The back ground is more soft and abstract leaving to your mind what is or is not there. Each time I saw that painting I saw and felt something different. I took that piece home with me at the end of the exhibit. To this day that painting still changes for me each time I view it. Over the years I purchased a number of other paintings from Sandi as gifts for family or special friends and for my home. A few years ago I purchased a wizard painting with a baby dragon from JW Baker, for my daughter as a house warming gift. She proudly displays it in her living room. Recently I purchased a fox painting from JW for myself. JW style is very detailed. It is amazing how controlled his brush strokes are. Sandi and JW are wonderful artists. Their pieces are just as aspiring and thought provocative over time as they are upon first viewing.
